A Zilch car subscription is a flexible alternative to buying or leasing a vehicle. For a simple weekly fee, you get access to a car with servicing, registration, insurance options, and support included, without long-term ownership commitments.
We have pick up locations in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton. For longer subscriptions we can deliver a car anywhere in the country.
Yes we will complete a credit check as part of our on-boarding process.
We accept driver licences from any of NZTA’s list of approved countries.

Any infringements incurred by your vehicle will be automatically forwarded to your email within 10 business days of when we receive them.
During the vehicle handover, our team will give you a maintenance schedule and a list of authorised service centres to ensure your vehicle is running properly and meeting warranty requirements. You won’t need to pay for routine vehicle maintenance.
Each subscription runs for the term shown in your individual subscription schedule. Zilch offers short-term and multi-month options. Both parties must confirm any changes to the term in writing.

Kilometres are charged at a per-KM rate, which is outlined in your schedule (e.g. $0.12 per km). You can prebuy a discounted 500 KM per week for $50
Yes, you can request an extension by notifying Zilch in writing at least 14 days before your subscription ends. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and standard pricing may apply.
If you return the vehicle before the agreed end date, Zilch may charge an early return fee. Zilch recalculates your subscription charges based on the new return date and applies any refund or additional charge.
You pay the first four weeks in advance when your subscription starts. Zilch then bills you every four weeks in advance, along with any additional usage or fees from the previous period.
Yes. Zilch insures all subscription vehicles. You can choose either your own insurance or a Zilch insurance option. Your subscription schedule confirms the insurance excess that applies.
You must return the vehicle clean, tidy, and free of rubbish. If you return the car in a dirty or soiled condition, Zilch may charge a cleaning fee.
You complete a damage check at the start of your subscription and again when you return the vehicle. If you don’t report new damage during your subscription, Zilch may charge you for repairs and apply the relevant insurance excess.
Yes. You must notify Zilch at least 14 days in advance if you wish to cancel early. Charges or refunds will be calculated by Zilch based on your revised return date.
Only drivers who have registered with Zilch and accepted the Zilch Private Membership Terms & Conditions can drive the vehicle.
